Abby Huff is a Research Engineer in the Department of Space Operations in the Solar System Science and Exploration Division of Southwest Research Institute. Abby’s areas of expertise include operations training, ground software development, operations display development, real-time console operations – especially as a commanding discipline, NASA CLPS proposals and processes, and collaboration with international teams. Working within these areas has led Abby to develop her skills in Python, Git, Linux, YAMCS, SPELL, ITOS, STOL, Grafana, and SPICE. At Southwest Research Institute, Abby’s work will initially focus on DIMPLE (Dating an Irregular Mare Patch with a Lunar Explorer) SOC (Science Operations Center) development, especially ground software testing, and support of active PUNCH (Polarimeter to Unify the Corona and Heliosphere) operations. Abby’s time at Southwest Research Institute is preceded by experience at the South African National Space Agency (SANSA), NASA Johnson Space Center, and ispace US.
