Dr. Amanda Alexander is a planetary scientist in the Department of Space Studies. Her research focuses on the effects of asteroid impacts on earth and other planetary bodies in the solar system through terrestrial field work, laboratory experiments, and numerical modeling. She is also involved in science and mission operations for the NASA CYGNSS mission (Deputy Mission Operations Manager) and the NASA-PRISM CLPS payload DIMPLE (Ground and Science Operations Lead). In addition, she is a science collaborator on the NASA Psyche mission. Dr. Alexander holds a B.A. in Astrophysical and Planetary Sciences and Ph.D. in Geological Sciences, both from the University of Colorado Boulder.
