Clayton is Manager for the Computer & Software Sciences Group in the Solar System Science and Exploration Division of Southwest Research Institute. Starting with SwRI in 2023, he was integral to the PUNCH (Polarimeter to Unify the Corona and Heliosphere) mission by building and configuring the backend systems that would run Mission Planning and Operations. Clayton came to SwRI from a 15 year contract with the State of Colorado, where he was responsible for running local Operations and Security for over 40 applications and nearly 600 websites.
