Michael Vincent is Director for the Department of Space Operations in the Solar System Science and Exploration Division and has been a member of the Boulder office since 2008.  He has held substantial roles on New Horizons, CYGNSS, and Lucy.  He has expertise in System Engineering and Mission Concept of Operations, having held roles as Instrument System Engineer, Payload System Engineer and Ground System Engineer.  Vincent was the Step 1 and Phase A Mission System Engineer for the Lucy mission and served as the Payload System Engineer and Encounter Phase Lead since.  On New Horizons he has been the in-flight Telecommunication Lead, the REX Instrument System Engineer and Project Manager, and the Payload System Engineer through the Pluto and Arrokoth Flybys.  Vincent has numerous NASA Group Achievement Awards, and in 2021 won NASA’s Silver Achievement Medal for exemplifying the NASA Core Values, particularly teamwork on the Lucy mission.  Vincent has a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
